Helping You Care for Your People
Introducing Responder Care
Responder Care Founder, Paul McFarlane, is a nationally recognised leader in emergency services, crisis management, and workplace wellbeing.
With over three decades of experience across healthcare, chaplaincy, and mental health leadership, Paul has spent his career supporting people in high-pressure environments and situations involving death, trauma, and life threatening events
Today, through Responder Care, Paul works alongside business owners and senior leaders to help them navigate workplace crisis, manage psychosocial risk, and lead their teams through difficult circumstances.
Paul’s approach is grounded in frontline experience and practical judgement. Rather than clinical models or generic programs, he provides structured leadership guidance and critical incident support that helps leaders think clearly, respond wisely, and stabilise their teams when it matters most.
Workplace wellbeing doesn’t need to be clinical or complicated. When leaders are supported to lead their teams through difficult situations, practical strategies can be implemented that protect people, reduce risk, and help their staff to recover.
“I’ve walked alongside first responders through some of Australia’s toughest moments. I bring that same care and insight to help you support your people.”

Helping you Care
for Your Business
At Responder Care, we help business owners and senior leaders:
Access practical leadership advice when tragedy and crisis occur
Create psychologically safe workplaces
Respond effectively when people challenges arise
"Our services are practical, cost-effective, and built to support you as you lead the team and run the business"
When serious and tragic events occur in your organisation, you don’t have to manage it alone.
Paul can provide a focused session designed to help you navigate workplace deaths, serious illnesses, and other complex human events within your business.

A different kind of support
Business Care isn’t a wellbeing program or an employee assistance service. We provide ongoing leadership support for business owners who are responsible for managing people and psychosocial risk.
Our focus isn’t on rolling out initiatives or reacting after things have gone wrong. It’s on supporting leaders to think clearly, assess risk, and respond appropriately as issues arise.
We will allocate a dedicated consultant who will journey with you as you navigate complex people decisions. Your trusted advisor will share their perspective, wisdom, and support over time, rather than providing one-off advice or recommending generic programs.
Paul is one of those rare professionals who listens deeply, leads with integrity, and genuinely puts people first. I’ve had the privilege of partnering with Paul to design and propose wellbeing solutions in complex and highly charged situations. His authenticity, experience, and calm presence consistently stand out.
Paul has a unique ability to uncover the root causes of wellbeing issues and offer practical, achievable ways forward. He is both creative and strategic - able to translate insight into smart, evidence-based solutions that create real, lasting change.
What truly sets him apart is his unwavering integrity and mission-led approach. He’s someone I trust implicitly and a true ally in creating workplaces where people can thrive.
